HOW TO MANAGE YOUR EGO BY LIVING IN GRATITUDE

Life is a constant turn of events. Like a river, it ebbs and flows with each tide, across rocky patches and unknown territories. We must learn to flow and ride the wave.

While being flexible works in our favor, we sometimes forget to celebrate those milestones, and the fact that we weathered the storm. Those victories are meant to be cherished, and serve as markers of our personal and professional success. Gratitude allows us to look at all that we’ve accomplished and be proud of the progress made so far as well as the lessons learned.

When we are too consumed by what’s to come in the future we detach from the present, the very thing that is a gift. We owe it to ourselves to take stock in all that we do – nothing is too big, or too small to celebrate. That’s where gratitude finds us — in the contentment of the present.

If you are constantly working to fill a void, to put a trophy on the shelf, to have another notch on your belt, you are working out of the lower mind, which is materialistic and likes to compete. But, when you are happy where you are, and you are able to take stock in what went right, this is practice of the higher mind. We must use both sides of our brain to be balanced, and gratitude is the fuse between the two.

Gratitude checks your ego at the door and allows you to enjoy the things that you already have, including family, friends, intimate moments shared, possessions both acquired and received, and most importantly, life.

Gratitude is the ultimate thanks, the ultimate sign of abundance. Once you recognize this, your blessings will magnify because you are no longer working from a lower mind, you’re working in favor with the natural laws of attraction that state “like attracts like.” Gratitude allows you to truly connect to the spirit world and your purpose to serve mankind.

Whenever you get into a dark place during your journey, stop and smell the roses. Take stock in all that you have done and cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Celebrate yourself; you deserve to experience happiness.
